Our Take
The Angels Horn stands out among entry-level Bluetooth turntables because it ships with an Audio-Technica AT-3600L cartridge — a genuine step up from the generic ceramic needles found on cheaper alternatives. That cartridge choice alone means your records will be tracked more carefully and sound noticeably better.
Bluetooth adds wireless convenience, though as with any BT turntable, it introduces some compression compared to a wired connection. The built-in preamp means you can go wired just as easily. At this price point, the combination of a real cartridge, preamp, and Bluetooth is unusual and genuinely useful.
It's not a deck for long-term audiophile growth — the upgrade path is limited and the build is lighter than Fluance or U-Turn. But as a first turntable for someone who wants a quality experience out of the box, it overdelivers relative to its cost.
Sound Quality
The AT-3600L cartridge gives the Angels Horn a notably cleaner sound than competing entry-level decks with generic ceramic styli. Highs are clearer, inner detail is more present, and there's less groove noise. Wired, the sound is warm and listenable. Via Bluetooth, it smooths out slightly — fine for casual listening but not for critical evaluation. It's more capable than its price suggests, though it will hit its ceiling before a Fluance RT82 or U-Turn Orbit would.
Setup and Ease of Use
Plug and play via the built-in preamp, or pair wirelessly via Bluetooth. Wired connection goes directly to any powered speakers or receiver. Bluetooth pairing is standard — hold the BT button, find it on your phone or speaker, connect. The main setup task is confirming the tonearm counterweight and anti-skate are properly set before first play, which takes a few minutes following the included guide. No USB output means no digitizing capability.
